Starting Out!

Hi and Welcome!

Share Your Number is a totally FREE online community that allows you to connect with like-minded people who want to help you on your personal journey to financial success.

It begins with understanding what financial success means to you ...

STEP 1: Visit and follow the steps to find your Life's Purpose [optional] and then calculate Your Number. It's easy, fun and important!

STEP 2: Then come back here and, if you haven't done so already, join up. You will be asked to set up your own profile and answer three very simple questions from STEP 1.

That's it!

You can then add photos and videos, keep a blog if you want to share your journey, invite your friends and family to join as well, and connect with other members ... you may even meet the very people who can help you on your journey to financial success!

No solicitation is allowed on this site, so you can be sure that the people that you meet have the same financial goals as you.

I'll be watching your progress with great interest and encouragement ...

Give a member a gift?

We use Ning to host this community site and one of the cool new features that they've added is "give a gift".

To try it, just click on a member's profile and select the 'give a gift' link.

I've looked at it, but haven't tried sending one (most of them look a little hokey to me ... and not terribly relevant to a personal finance web-site) ...

... but, hey, don't let that stop you: a gift might be a great way to recognize a fellow member's… Continue

If you are interested in real-estate ...

... particularly, if you are interested in property development (as a speculative/business activity) I have posted a spreadsheet that I developed to help me decide to go ahead with a recent land acquisition (a multi-story) residential property development site) on a new group that I have created for real-estate junkies on this forum:…

I think she's screwed ...

On today, I posted about a question from a new reader who is in dire financial straits; you can read her comment here:

I'm seeing some pretty good comments from the 7m7y reader community, but I thought that I would share my private thoughts here; it's simple and straight to the point: if you ever find yourself in a… Continue

Technical Problems with my Blog ...

... not fun, but it happens :)

So, after receiving up / down reports on my blog - and, experiencing it myself on a couple of occasions (i.e. a "page not found" error message) - I hassled GoDaddy's tech. services team who have not yet managed to solve my problem.

That they immediately knew what the issue was indicates that this issue is not isolated to me, so I figure they must be busy… Continue

New Rule # 1 Group on Share Your Number

The KC-inspired discussion on Rule # 1 Investing (thanks, KC!) has prompted me to create a new group right here, on Share Your Number, devoted to all-things-Phil-Town - well, at least to his book: Rule # 1 Investing.

To kick things off, I am sharing some resources… Continue

In response to "Should I take the money guys advice?". After more thought and digging to give a more appropriate response than "50 Cent" (tripple that and his advice might get you a coffee)... a better answer to what to do with serious cash (were I to possess it)... since that blog don't want to take more than 15 responses, here is the one I should've given: 1., 2.$sessionid$, 3., 4., 5. ... the first few are based on a nifty little title "fortunes formula", an entertaining read, espec. if you like the move 21... the latter two are just based on encounters at seminars and what not.Delete Comment

I'm a realist not a pessimist. Besides, waffles are good with whole wheat flour :) Maybe I can go into business.

Hi Doug - reminds me of the advice given to the young Joseph Needham: "Think in oceans."

Great to have you on board!

No get rich quick or get rich slow for us, Michael, it's: Get Rich(er) Quick(er) ... no scams, no schemes ... just (I hope!) good ol' financial advice :)

I love your 7million7years site, it's refreshing to read someone who's done it for real and so down to earth about it. I'm an advocate of getting rich as fast as possible (not get rich quick schemes or scams though). This getting rich slow is for the meek. Life's too short for that. I wanna be able to retire and enjoy life (and help others) by the time I'm forty. So it would be an adventure to learn from and be inspired by everyone in this group.
