Rule #1 Investing - The First 30 Days of Reving the Growth Engine

My number is 10 Million by Jan 1st 2019.

As part of my growth engine to get me there, I will be using individual stocks. I first came across Phil Town's Book "Rule #1" about a year and a half ago (have I been reading Adrian's posts for that long?) on Adrian's 7million7years.com web site. I read it quickly, bought my first stock (Garmin) according the book's valuation principles and then promptly let everything fall by the wayside without bothering to actually implement the part of the strategy… Continue

August Net Worth Checkup

I just updated my net worth profile over at Networthiq. It's been a good 30 days between real estate and the stock market. My net worth jumped 7% to $719K. That's my first time over $700,000.

As a recap, I need to average ~ 30% compounded annually to get to my number (~2.5% per month). Since January 09 my net worth has risen a full 41% keeping me ahead of my minimum pace. :-)

I know the rapid growth won't last and It'll c… Continue

Can You Find Your Number on Craigslist?

As I prepare for my entry in to MM201, I'm finding that my game plan is changing. My original play book was aimed at achieving an annual compound growth rate of 38%. However, in my previous post, I noted that recent increases in my net worth have reduced that requirement to just under 30% (29.28% to be exact).

That's great for a couple of reasons

1. My number (10 Million by 1/1/19) just became more achievable.
2. I can take a step down on the risk ladder and still have a reasonable shot at ach… Continue

Wow, that's terrific Jeff. I still haven't read that book for some dumb reason. I'll have to get to it! I look forward to watching you progress.

I bailed out on Google yesterday. All the tools said (and still say) "stay away." I netted 5.12% for 20 days of my time. I'm still holding Panera...Day 21 and counting. After all three tools said, "buy" it was a bumpy road up to earnings. Then on...

Jeff that's really good news! Especially if you can continue to target your sales page with low cost ppc. Excellent, now, just rinse and repeat :)

My online money making efforts just took another small step forward today. I made my first online affiliate sale using google ppc ads to promote an product. A small victory but a victory nonetheless and a 75% ROI as well. Now I just need to repeat until rich! :-)

I have to admit, I've been a bit remiss lately in participating at 7M7Y. I have skipped over the number revision exercises. Not because I feel they aren't necessary but because I've become focused on taking action.

In October I signed up for a Pay Per Click online course and learned a ton (I hope) about affiliate marketing. After going through all the course material I have built my first affiliate campaign and hope to launch it shortly.

Additionally, I've focused a bit on my Personal Finance and Money Management blog at www.mindingmyownbusiness.net The focus has been behind the scenes on Search Engine Optimization, Affiliate Marketing and Advertising. I sold two advertisements for $120 buck this month. That coupled with my Adsense revenue puts me at a whopping $160. Not a ton, but its a start.

AJ, the site looks great...a bit facebookish, but nice nonetheless.

Thanks for inviting me to participate.
