I think she's screwed ...
On 7million7years.com today, I posted about a question from a new reader who is in dire financial straits; you can read her comment here: http://7million7years.com/2009/08/31/i-think-were-screwed/
I'm seeing some pretty good comments from the 7m7y reader community, but I thought that I would share my private thoughts here; it's simple and straight to the point: if you ever find yourself in a situation like Rischa, don't waste your time reading personal finance books or blogs (mine included), until you have sought immediate, direct, candid, personal financial advice from somebody (preferably a financial adviser, accountant and/or attorney) well versed in distressed finances.
With your house and livelihood on the line, this is no time to pussyfoot around! Once your immediate financial situation is taken care of, come back and visit us :)
BTW: this leads me to ask you how the financial crisis has affected you, but don't answer me, here; instead, I have created a new discussion on the forum where I would really like to hear from our member community:
